Thinking of trying out streaming?

Razer is expanding its lineup of streaming devices with starter-level webcams and capture cards. These are the Kiyo X and the Ripsaw X respectively, aimed towards new streamers looking for equipment that can deliver high-quality video streaming.
First up is the Razer Kiyo X USB webcam, which gives users the choice of either Full HD clarity or smooth 60fps streaming, in 1080p 30fps or 720p 60fps options. The latter would probably be more tempting for anyone streaming multiplayer games, but it’s entirely your choice. You can also tweak video settings on the fly with Razer Synapse and its built-in Auto Focus.

The Kiyo X comes with Razer Virtual Ring Light software as a complimentary add-on. This is a customisable lighting app that uses your PC monitor to illuminate your face, used for video calls and streams. Good lighting is always important for streaming, so this should do nicely until you can get something better set up. If you recall, Razer's fame to the game was the original Kiyo that featured a physical ring light around the camera. So the Kiyo X does away with this and uses a 2.1MP sensor instead of a 4MP sensor found on the first Kiyo to help you save even more as you'll notice from its price point.
The Razer Ripsaw X is a dedicated capture card that can deliver videos with up to 4K resolution at 30fps. Using HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.0, it gives you a near-zero latency connection and is compatible with devices like DSLRs and hand-held cameras with HDMI output. Essentially, this is a plug-and-play capture card you can use without needing to install hardware directly into your PC tower.
The Razer Kiyo X and the Razer Ripsaw X are now available for purchase, but the Razer Virtual Ring Light software will be available later in October 2021. The Kiyo X goes for S$119 while the Ripsaw X is available at S$219 at authorised retailers and Razer’s website.
