The new TV's front is a seamless sheet of glass in gradient black to transparent, which masks the screen in off-mode. When switched on, the large glass front gives the screen a magical floating effect while still maintaining the one-piece design concept. It carries the Philips DesignLine hallmark, that is, a TV without a neck, without a stand, and without a visible frame, with one seamless sheet of glass leaning against a wall or mounted on it. The lower area of the glass becomes invisible when watching TV.

The DesignLine incorporates Ambilight, a proprietary Philips TV feature which projects light precisely matching the color of the on-screen content onto the wall behind the TV, supporting the "floating" effect. Designed with interior decoration in mind without compromising on picture quality, the premium TV offers a full set of advanced user interaction and streaming capabilities.

The new DesignLine TV series comes in 46- and 55-inch screen sizes:-
