Instagram just announced that it now has over 500 million users, of which more than 300 million use the app daily. It also shared that its user base has become more global, with more than 80% living outside of the U.S.
The growth of its user base is commendable; 9 months ago, it had about 400 million users with 75% residing outside of the U.S. Instagram also published some statistics about what its users are posting. Here are some examples:
- There are more than 95 million posts every day
- There are about 4.2 billion likes every day
- There are 325 million Throwback Thursdays
- There are more than 82 million outfits of the day
- 381,000 people shared photos of their #firsttattoo
- 169,000 people captured the #mostwonderfultimeoftheyear
