Users of Facebook's Messenger app can now enjoy voice messaging facilities following a recent update from the social networking giant. This new feature is available on both iOS and Android versions of Messenger.

To send voice messages, simply hit the "+" button on the left side of the text box, choose "record voice", press and hold the "record" button to record your message, and release to send. Although this feature is free to use, do note that it does take up a considerable amount of data.

According to Mashable, Facebook's Messenger is one of the company's many stand-alone apps used to test new features with their users. Apps that prove their worth would then have their functionality added into the regular Facebook app.
