BOE reportedly secured OLED panel deal for the Apple iPhone 14
BOE reportedly passed Apple's iPhone 14 certification and will mass produce about five million OLED panels later this month.
Chinese display panel maker BOE is said to be back in the supply chain for the Apple iPhone 14.
Citing information from the supply chain, IT Home claims BOE has passed Apple's iPhone 14 certification and go into mass production of about five million OLED panels later this month.
While BOE is expected to supply over five million OLED panels, Samsung Display will supply the bulk of the panels at 60 million units and LG Display will provide about 25 million panels.
BOE was reportedly dropped from the supply chain earlier this year as it made design changes to the OLED panel without informing Apple. It recently resumed production of OLED panels for the iPhone 13 after executives went to Cupertino to explain the matter.
With a third OLED display supplier, Apple is likely to have more bargaining power this year with Samsung Display and LG Display for future OLED orders.
