The best phone cameras are found in the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus according to DxOMark

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are currently holding the top two positions on the DxOMark Mobile chart.

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus not only have the most powerful mobile processor in the market, they also have the best cameras.

According to DxOMark, the iPhone 8 Plus currently ranks at the top with a record score of 94. It is also breaking new ground in almost every test category. Its Photo score of 96 is a record high while its Video score of 89 is tied with the HTC U11 and slightly below that of the Google Pixel (91). The iPhone 8 Plus is commended for having one of the best HDR performances, its excellent use of face detection to accurately expose faces, the best zoom and the best bokeh effect from a smartphone. 

The iPhone 8 is touted as a solid performance upgrade over the iPhone 7 and ranks second on the DxOMark Mobile chart with a score of 92. Similar to its bigger sibling, the iPhone 8 is praised for its outstanding HDR performances and very accurate autofocus. Both iPhone models also have very good stabilization and good face tracking in bright light for videography. 

Apple's new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are currently ranked ahead of the Google Pixel, HTC U11, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7, Sony Xperia XZ Premium, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, iPhone 6 and the Nokia PureView. It will be interesting to see how the iPhone X fares against the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus when it arrives on 3 November.
