Are these the PlayStation Orbis' Processor and Graphics Specs?
Unnamed sources at IGN have reported the CPU and GPU specs of the next generation PlayStation, currently codenamed Orbis.
Take this with a grain of salt but unnamed sources have reported to IGN that the next PlayStation, codenamed Orbis, will utilize an AMD A8-3850 quad-core 2.9GHz processor and an AMD Radeon HD 7670 GPU clocked to 1GHz with up to 1GB of dedicated VRAM. If these reports are true, it will confirm the previous rumors of Sony abandoning the Cell processor currently found in their PlayStation 3.
Interestingly, IGN previously reported that the next generation Xbox (which may or may not be called the Xbox 720) will be utilizing a similar AMD Radeon HD 6670 GPU, meaning that the two rival consoles could be very close in terms of graphics processing power.
