Robot vacuum cleaners are the ultimate machines for keeping homes clean with minimal effort. In our “Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner” category, we are not just looking for features, performance and ease of use, but also design and innovation. The last two criteria are key because modern robot vacuums have a standardised feature set that we’ve come to expect, and so, our best robot vacuum pick must truly stand out from its peers.

For this year’s awards, we are only considering flagship models released between April 2024 and April 2025. It has to be a complete automated floor cleaning solution, capable of vacuuming (offering no less than 5,000pa suction power), mopping capability, and full self-cleaning through its docking station.

Nominees:

  1. Dreame X50 Ultra
  2. Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni
  3. Mova Z50 Ultra
  4. Samsung 70W Jet Bot Combo
  5. Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20 Max

Note: The list of brands competing in the robot vacuum space is rather exhaustive, and some brands either do not make the cut, do not sell the particular model locally, or weren’t able to provide a test unit during our testing and qualification phase.

And the winner is…

Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni | Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner in Singapore

Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni

Ecovacs

Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni - Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner

This year’s robot vacuums have really upped the ante in terms of features and performance, with three out of five robots tested boasting 18,000Pa suction and above. The Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni takes the win simply because it offers real innovative improvements and practical features that we think are useful. Its extending roller mop puts the robot on par with stick floor cleaners for mopping efficacy, has massively improved AI-powered navigation and object detection algorithms, plays well with newer smart home ecosystems such as Matter, and can even double up as a roving home security camera with 2-way communication. What seals the deal is the fact that with price adjustments since our original review, the X8 Pro Omni is now the second most-affordable robot vacuum among our nominees, making this win a no-brainer.

*Scores adjusted from their original individual reviews based on direct comparison, taking into consideration current pricing factors (as of writing) as well. For example, the Samsung 70W Jet Bot has the fewest features among all the robot vacuums while being the most expensive, while the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni has the most features with the second-lowest price, earning adjustments to their respective value scores.

Mova Z50 Ultra - The second best

Mova Z50 Ultra | The Second Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner in Singapore

Mova Z50 Ultra

HWZ

The Mova Z50 Ultra is almost as easy to recommend as the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni; it does a lot of things right, and is priced reasonably, but there are a couple of caveats. It also features a roller-style mop, but it doesn’t extend, limiting its edge cleaning capabilities. Mova also forces you to buy its own proprietary bottle of cleaning fluid. It’s inflexible and wasteful. Both Ecovacs and Dreame have started to allow consumers to add their own liquid detergent into a special chamber, which controls the concentration fed to the robot.

Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20 Max - Most affordable

Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20 Max | The Most Affordable Premium Robot Vacuum Cleaner in Singapore

Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20 Max

HWZ

It may not be the most feature-packed or the most powerful, but the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20 Max will clean your floor adequately, has excellent navigation, and an asking price that’s hard to argue against. For just S$679, it is the most affordable flagship-class robot vacuum in our lineup, but that doesn’t mean it is the weakest. It still has more suction power than the Samsung 70W Jet Bot (8,000Pa vs 6,000Pa), comes with a dedicated anti-tangle hair-cutting brush, compact docking station, and surprised us during testing with an incredibly precise navigation system that rivals the Ecovacs X8 Pro Omni. This is the no-nonsense robot you’re looking for.

Dreame X50 Ultra - You like building obstacle courses for your robot

Dreame X50 Ultra

Dreame X50 Ultra

HWZ

With its ProLeap system, the X50 Ultra feels less of a simple upgrade over its predecessors and more like a glimpse into what robot vacuums are becoming – more autonomous and self-sufficient. There’s something entertaining, for geeks like us, watching it lift itself over a ledge or shimmy under a cabinet. Yet, unlike the roller mop on the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni, which is a universal upgrade for everyone, this new hero feature of the X50 Ultra is quite niche. Unless your home is filled with 6cm-high navigational hurdles that other robots just cannot traverse, it is not as practical as it first seems.

Samsung 70W Jet Bot Combo - You’re deeply investing in SmartThings

Samsung 70W Jet Bot Combo

Samsung 70W Jet Bot Combo

HWZ

The Samsung 70W Jet Bot Combo was the first robot that we reviewed for this award season, and it was already showing signs of its ageing specifications even when compared with last year’s contenders. It has the lowest suction power at 6,000Pa, no unique navigational or cleaning technologies, static brushes, static mopping pads, and a comically large docking station. It is a competent floor cleaner and has a long battery life, but its rudimentary sensor means it knocks into objects more often than we like. The only remarkable thing about it is the price. For S$1,739, you’d have to be a diehard SmartThings and Samsung fan to get this one.
