Immersive Videos are a big deal for the Vision Pro, so Apple is releasing more of them this year

Apple will be dropping new Immersive Video content for the Vision Pro over the next few months.

Immersive Videos are videos recorded in a special format designed for the Vision Pro consisting of 180-degree footage recorded in 8K. When you watch these videos with the Vision Pro, it looks like you were there – right in the thick of the action.

In my review, I called Immersive Videos one of the most compelling reasons to get the Vision Pro, especially if Apple can get more content. And now it has.

The first Immersive Video to drop is from Boundless, a series which Apple says will let viewers “embark on the trips they’ve only dreamed of”. The first episode in this series will take viewers to Cappadocia, Turkey, in hot air balloons. The second episode, which is coming this fall, will travel to the north of the Arctic Circle.

Other content includes:

  • The second episode of Wild Life (coming in August)
  • Elevated, an aerial travel series (coming in September)
  • Submerged, a scripted short film set during WWII (coming this fall)
  • 2024 NBA All-Star weekend (coming this fall)
  • Performance by The Weeknd (coming later this year)
  • Red Bull: Big-Wave Surfing, a sports series (coming later this year)

These new content will be available at no additional cost from the Apple TV app for users where the Apple Vision Pro is available. This includes Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, the UK, and the US.
