LG G5 to sport an OLED display with "always on" feature?

LG Mobile posted a teaser on its Facebook page hinting that the upcoming G5 flagship smartphone will come with an OLED display as it will have an "always on" feature.

After it was reported that Samsung has filed an application to trademark the term "Always On Display", LG Mobile posted a teaser on its Facebook page confirming that such a feature is coming to its G5 flagship smartphone.

Accompanied by a marketing message "never go asleep while others do", this is an official confirmation that the G5 smartphone will display basic information such as date, time and notifications at the upper portion of the screen.

This isn't the first time that LG is experimenting with such features. Its recent V10 smartphone sports a second OLED display which function as a "24/7 billboard" for weather, date, time and battery life.

VentureBeat previously reported that the G5 will have dual displays like the V10. Will LG be using a full OLED display for the G5? The answer will be revealed on 21st February.
